Ines

Hey, my name is Ines. The main roles I took on were creating the spoken word poem for the short film and ensuring that accessibility needs were met in our piece.

The stimulus for my spoken word was absence. Our group decided to explore the absence of a future in relation to climate change and the way we are currently treating our planet. This piece was incorporated into the short film as a voiceover that I recorded. I then added subtitles to the film to make it accessible for deaf and blind audiences.

When we agreed on exploring climate change, I suggested the idea of creating visuals for the film that would portray a variety of natural disasters, such as melting ice caps, wildfires and flooding.

As well as this, I was involved in the initial ideas of the spoken word piece as well as providing materials for the physical sculpture. I got involved in creating the base of the sculpture which was created with papier mache.
